The County on behalf of itself and its  local partners (the "Emergency Services Zone") are seeking Proposals for Public Safety Access Point services ("PSAP"). Public Safety Access Point, is a call centre responsible for answering calls to 9-1-1 for police, firefighting, and ambulance services. The PSAP has trained 9-1-1 operators that are responsible for dispatching the appropriate emergency services or transferring calls to the appropriate emergency response agency for the dispatch of services.

The County is responsible to designate Primary PSAPs, Secondary PSAPs, and Back-up PSAPs to answer and dispatch 9-1-1 calls in the County of Essex region.
